Anna Cocilovo, L.Ac., PA-C

Anna's journey in medicine and healing began at the University of Wisconsin, Madison's Physician Assistant Program where she graduated in 1978.  She has held positions in internal medicine, mental health, family medicine, women's health, adolescent health, pain research, pain treatment and integrative medicine.

Though initially trained in conventional medicine, Anna developed an innate appreciation for the body mind connection, wellness  and natural approaches to health care early on.   In 1982, Anna embarked on her study of acupuncture at the traditional Japanese Kototama Institute under Sensei Masahilo Nakazono in Santa Fe, Mexico.  She began her practice of acupuncture in 1987 and has been learning and honing her skills since then.

Anna's practice encompasses all conditions addressed by acupuncture.  She is excellent and highly experienced in the management of pain.  She also has training and experience in specialized areas including the treatment of addictions, scalp acupuncture for neurological disorders (stroke, MS, etc), and facial rejuvenation.  She has developed, taught and published on the subject of colored light therapy.  Her practice incorporates nutritional counseling, herbal and homeopathic treatments.

Anna has been highly influenced by the innovative  Balance Acupuncture Methods of Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan.  These techniques are very powerful in the resolution of pain and many internal conditions.

When she is not working, Anna loves spending time with family, hiking, traveling and playing Paraguayan harp.
